Located in Nusa Dua on the southeastern side of the island, the Grand Hyatt Bali provides a welcome escape from the buzz of more crowded areas like Kuta and Seminyak. The hotel grounds are large, meticulously kept, and offer easy access to both the beach and several pools. We absolutely loved the four nights that we stayed at the Grand Hyatt Bali and highly recommend it!
The Room
We stayed in a King bed Ocean view room. There was also a sofa corner converted to a bed for the kids, so the room was spacious enough for our family of 4. The balcony gave views to a small lagoon filled with ducks and geese, and beyond that the Indian Ocean. The room was decorated in traditional Balinese fashion, with plenty of wood furniture along with colorful art throughout the room. You can expect all of the modern amenities from a Grand Hyatt resort as well, and the overall the room was a great way to unwind after busy days in the pool, beach, and activities beyond the resort.
The Hotel
As previously mentioned, the resort itself is pretty large! There are four separate complexes with rooms, with paths to the lobby, restaurants, shopping area, kids club, beach, and pools. We began each of our days with a buffet breakfast at Salsa Verde, the hotel’s poolside restaurant. The breakfast buffet had a variety of Western and Asian dishes, as well as a pancake station and fresh juice dispensers. For lunch, we also ate at Salsa Verde, which has a menu of primarily Italian food. There is also the Garden Café Restaurant, which serves traditional Indonesian meals. All of the food was delicious! But the highlight of our dining experience was at Pasar Senggol, their outdoor dinner buffet. Not only was there a wide variety of dishes, the entire restaurant is arranged like an amphitheater, with a stage in the middle. Every night, there are different performances, ranging from Balinese and Indonesian dances, to other cultural offerings.
The Grand Hyatt Bali also has a great kids club program, where you can drop off your kids for sessions of 2, 4, or 8 hours (at an affordable rate). The indoor area of the kids club has plenty of toys and video games for the kids, and the building is surrounded by a grassy picnic area. The kids club even has two bunnies that kids can help care for and feed, and the schedule is filled with arts and crafts and other fun activities that our kids loved.
Finally, the pool area had several different sections, making it easy to find an open space for your family. Our favorite part was the pool that was built around rock formations, which gave it a natural mangrove feel. The kids especially loved jumping off some rock ledges into the water! In addition to this pool, there’s a standard pool as well as a water slide, which snakes down a grass hill and into another pool. As for the beach, there is a wide stretch of sand, making it ideal for taking walks as a family, and the water was calm enough to dip in as well.
Ultimately, the Grand Hyatt Bali was a fun resort for the whole family. It serves as a great combination of Balinese culture and architecture, with modern resort amenities. We truly enjoyed experiencing what the resort had to offer and hope to return on another trip to beautiful Bali.
