So… it’s April 2018 and you’ve been hearing crickets on our blog the past couple of weeks. And that’s because the past few weeks have been hectic. Scratch that, I mean capital-H HECTIC! Here’s a quick recap of the past 4 weeks here at The Jetsetting Family:
- We showed our house to 9 prospective tenants
- We FINALLY rented out our house!
- Jess staged our living room as a “fashion boutique” and held some sales
- We took a weekend trip to Las Vegas, New Mexico to visit Jess’s best friend
- We took over the Visit Colorado Springs (@visitcos) Instagram Account over four days
- I traveled to Guadalajara, Mexico for my Dad’s 70th Birthday dinner
- Jess traveled to Albuquerque, New Mexico for our niece’s 5th birthday
- We were featured by Travel + Leisure’s Photo of the Day section!!!
- We went on a one week trip to Seattle and Vancouver with some close friends
- I got promoted to Major in the United States Air Force!
- My parents visited over the weekend from San Diego to celebrate the promotion
And now here we are, trying to catch our breath as we continue to race toward our June full-time travel departure. Are you going to get everything done? The answer is an emphatic YES. Here’s what’s on the docket for the next 8 weeks:
- Sell our furniture, our kitchenware, our cars, and get down to 2 luggages and 4 backpacks
- Seriously, how are we going to fit 6 months of travel stuff in 2 luggages and 4 backpacks???
- Find a temporary home for our dog Simba
- Complete a few home improvement projects to make the house rental-ready
- Finish teaching at the Air Force Academy and separate from active-duty military service
- Schedule and book our full-time travels
- Continue updating the blog with the content that you’re looking for
- Post (almost) every day on Instagram (our account 1 year anniversary is coming up on April 30!)
And to top this off, we’ve been working on a secret project 😉 More details on that will come in the next few days, so stay tuned!
Ultimately, we are the busiest that we’ve ever been in our lives. However, as we get closer and closer to June, the nerves are starting to come down and the excitement is starting to build up. Seriously, we are FREAKING EXCITED. We’re chasing our dreams, so how could we not be, right???
So let me end this with a friendly reminder. “The size of your dreams must exceed your current capacity to achieve them. If your dreams do not scare you, they are not big enough.”
